The TAUR Gaiter III is a versatile, lightweight saddle designed to offer excellent freedom of movement for the horse while providing the rider with a secure, balanced and comfortable seat.
Its versatile design makes it equally at home schooling in the arena, riding out on the trails or covering longer distances in endurance riding. The supportive seat and close-contact feel allow the rider to maintain a balanced position for dressage and everyday schooling, while its comfort, stability and lightweight construction make it a practical choice for trail and endurance riders.
Originally developed with the Icelandic and gaited horse in mind, its compact design also makes it an excellent option for many short-backed, broad and round horses where accommodating the rider without creating an unnecessarily long weight-bearing area can be challenging.
The Gaiter III features a flexible tree that allows the saddle to move more naturally with the horse through the back and ribcage. Generous space through the shoulder area accommodates horses with large or expressive shoulder movement, while the panel design provides a broad and stable contact surface.
With seven interchangeable gullet widths, the saddle can be adjusted as the horse changes through training, season, age or condition, making it particularly useful for horses whose shape changes throughout the year.
For the rider, the Gaiter III provides a close-contact feel with a comfortable, supportive seat. Its compact construction allows the rider to have the seat size and leg room they require without simply extending the saddle further along the horse’s back.
