Description

The Taur Opux Gaiter Dressage V2 is a treeless dressage saddle developed specifically for gaited horses and horses with more challenging saddle fit requirements, including very short-backed horses.

This model incorporates specially designed features that work together to provide exceptional shoulder freedom, including softly shaped saddle flaps and specially cut, bevelled Soft Latex panels. These design elements create additional space for the shoulder blades, making the saddle particularly suitable for horses with large shoulder movement and active biomechanics.

This version of the Taur Gaiter Dressage features a more forward-positioned knee block, allowing greater freedom for the rider’s upper leg. The knee blocks are also narrower and shorter, providing additional room for the lower leg. Riders who prefer more space for the legs or a freer position with more subtle knee support may prefer this V2 version. In all other aspects, the V2 offers the same comfort and balance as the popular Taur Gaiter Dressage 2019 model.

The saddle features a mono flap design as standard, including a sweat flap, along with a stabilising fully flexible “one size” gullet system with short tree points designed to suit a wide variety of horse shapes.

The thoughtfully designed girthing system, featuring a V-system with a movable rear strap, helps stabilise the saddle even on round-bodied or uphill-built horses where saddles may otherwise tend to slide forward. Excellent pressure relief is provided through permanently filled Soft Latex bevelled panels designed for close contact between horse and rider.

As an optional extra, the panels can be ordered with an additional 1 cm of filling. If thicker panels are selected, the optional “wider channel” is recommended. The saddle is slightly built up at the front to suit horses with low to medium withers, although it is not recommended for horses with very high withers.

The semi-deep dressage seat is exceptionally comfortable and designed to support correct rider positioning. The seat is softly padded with latex and is available in seven different seat sizes ranging from 15” to 18”.

Optional D-rings can also be added for attaching saddle bags, with the choice of front rings, rear rings, or both.

Crafted in Europe using exceptionally high-quality leather, the saddle features double-stitched soft nappa leather flaps for a luxurious finish and feel.

The Taur Opux Gaiter Dressage V2 is an exceptionally comfortable saddle for gaited riding at all levels, dressage, trail riding, and leisure riding. It is particularly well suited to Icelandic horses, draft breeds, Iberian horses, Fjords, Friesians, ponies, and other horses with low to medium withers and broad or short-backed conformation.
