Choosing a saddle is one of the most important investments you’ll make for your horse.

While photographs, measurements and product descriptions are helpful, nothing compares to experiencing a saddle on your own horse, in your own environment, during your normal rides.

That’s why we’ve created the Pure Equine Balance saddle trial program.

Our saddle trial program gives you the opportunity to ride in one of our premium Swedish saddles before making a final decision, while receiving personalised support to help you choose the most suitable setup for your horse.

Buying a saddle online can feel overwhelming. Even with measurements, photographs and expert advice, it can be difficult to know exactly how a saddle will feel once you’re in the saddle and your horse is moving.

How freely will your horse move?

Will the saddle feel balanced?

Will you feel secure and comfortable?

These are questions that simply can’t be answered from a product page.

Our Saddle Experience was created to remove the uncertainty.

Rather than asking you to make a significant investment based on guesswork, we give you the opportunity to experience the saddle on your own horse before deciding whether it’s the right choice.

We’ll work with you throughout the process to help select the most appropriate model and discuss your horse’s conformation, your riding goals and the padding system that may best suit your individual horse.

The Pure Equine Balance Difference

Unlike a traditional demo program, our Saddle Experience is designed around the horse.

Every trial includes:

✔ Guidance on saddle pads, bareback pads, shimmable systems and girths where appropriate.

✔ Support and saddle fitting advise throughout your trial..

✔ The opportunity to ride your horse in your own environment.

✔ A Trial Fee that is credited towards the purchase of a new saddle.

How the Saddle Experience Works

Step 1 – Complete Your Saddle Assessment & Trial Request at bottom of this page

Complete our online request form and tell us a little about your horse.

We’ll ask about:

• your horse’s discipline
• your current saddle
• any fitting challenges
• your riding goals
• any questions or concerns you may have.

We may also ask you to upload a few photographs of your horse so we can better understand their conformation before recommending a saddle.

Step 2 – We Help You Choose the Right Saddle

Rather than asking you to guess which model may suit your horse, we’ll discuss your horse’s conformation, workload and the type of riding you do to help determine the most appropriate saddle for your trial.

If we feel another model would better suit your horse, we’ll tell you.

Our recommendations are always based on what we believe will best support you and your horse.

If the saddle you want to trial is currently on trial with someone else, we will put you on the waiting list and send it out once its available.

Step 3 – Your Saddle Is Carefully Prepared and Shipped

Before dispatch, your saddle is carefully inspected, cleaned and prepared for its journey.

We charge a flat $70 shipping fee anywhere within Australia.

Once dispatched, we’ll provide tracking details so you can follow your saddle’s journey.

Step 4 – Enjoy Your 10-Day Saddle Experience

From the day your saddle arrives, you’ll have 10 days to ride in your normal environment.

Take your time.

Ride more than once.

Assess both your own comfort and your horse’s way of going.

If you have any questions during your trial, we’re only an email or phone call away.

Send us photos and videos and we will help assess fit

Do not ride in jeans with studs or bling on pockets; or breachers with anti slip material. This may cause damage to the leather.

Step 5 – Decide What’s Right for You

At the end of your trial, you have three simple options.

Return the saddle

If you decide the saddle isn’t the right fit, simply return it in accordance with our trial terms.

Once received and inspected, we’ll refund your Refundable Saddle Deposit, less the Trial Fee and applicable shipping costs.

Purchase a new saddle

If you love the saddle but would prefer a brand-new one, we’ll refund your Refundable Saddle Deposit in full.

Your $100 Trial Fee will then be credited towards your new saddle purchase.

Keep your demo saddle

Sometimes you know you’ve found the right saddle after just a few rides.

If you decide you’d like to keep the demo saddle, simply let us know.

There’s no need to return it.

Your Refundable Saddle Deposit simply becomes payment for the saddle, allowing you to continue riding without interruption.

Pricing

Our pricing has been designed to keep the process simple and transparent.

Trial Fee Credit

If you purchase a new saddle, your $100 Trial Fee will be credited towards your purchase.

Understanding the Refundable Saddle Deposit

A Refundable Saddle Deposit, equal to the full retail price of the selected saddle, is required before your trial begins.

This deposit secures the saddle while it is in your care and protects our demonstration inventory.

If you return the saddle in accordance with our trial terms, your deposit will be refunded promptly following inspection, less the Trial Fee and applicable shipping costs.

If you choose to keep the demo saddle, your deposit simply becomes payment for the saddle.

There are no additional payments required unless you’ve chosen to purchase additional products or a different model.

Returning Your Saddle

When your Saddle Experience comes to an end, simply:

• Brush away loose hair and dirt.
• Wipe the saddle clean with a slightly damp cloth if required.
• Return the saddle in its original packaging.
• Arrange return shipping using a tracked courier service.

As the saddle remains your responsibility until it has been safely received and inspected by Pure Equine Balance, we strongly recommend purchasing transit insurance (additional cover) for the full value of the saddle when arranging return shipping.

This helps protect your Refundable Saddle Deposit should anything unexpected occur during transit.

Unfortunately, Pure Equine Balance cannot accept responsibility for saddles that are lost or damaged while being returned. The saddle remains the customer’s responsibility until it has been safely received and inspected.

I acknowledge that a security deposit equal to the full retail value of the demo saddle is required before the saddle will be dispatched. The security deposit will be held by Pure Equine Balance for the duration of the trial period and refunded once the saddle has been returned, inspected, and found to comply with the terms of the Demo Saddle Program. I acknowledge that the $100 Demo Trial Fee and the initial postage fee are non-refundable. Should I proceed with the purchase of a saddle, the $100 Demo Trial Fee will be credited towards my purchase. If I choose not to purchase a saddle, the Demo Trial Fee will be retained by Pure Equine Balance. I understand that I am responsible for the cost of returning the demo saddle to Pure Equine Balance. I acknowledge that I am fully responsible for the demo saddle from the time it is delivered until it has been safely received back by Pure Equine Balance. I accept responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage that occurs during the trial period or return transit and understand that it is strongly recommended that I purchase adequate postage insurance when returning the saddle. I understand that any damage, alterations, excessive wear, missing components, or failure to adequately clean the saddle may result in a partial or full deduction from my security deposit, at the discretion of Pure Equine Balance. I acknowledge that the demo saddle must be returned within 10 days of delivery, unless an extension has been approved by Pure Equine Balance prior to the expiry of the trial period. I understand that the purpose of the demo program is to assess the suitability and fit of the saddle for my horse. I agree to participate in the complimentary fitting consultation provided by Pure Equine Balance and to provide the requested photographs and videos to assist with the fitting assessment during the trial period. I understand that participation in the Demo Saddle Program does not guarantee that a saddle will be suitable for my horse or myself. While Pure Equine Balance provides professional fitting guidance and recommendations based on the information supplied, the final decision to purchase a saddle remains my responsibility.
